The illustrations are using Photoshop Elements 3 on
a PC, however most image editing programs will be fairly similar.
Start your image editing program and open the photo on which you wish
to work. The photo we've selected is named Chloe.jpg.
The FIRST thing to do is save this in TIF format, so;
Click on FILE > SAVE AS.
Select TIF (or TIFF) from the drop-down menu and Save the file. You should
now have a photo named Chloe.tif, and the box in which you performed
this operation should look something like this:
