The photo Chloe.tif is now in the right format (TIF)
for you to manipulate it without loss of quality, however it's much too
large, so we'll resize it to a smaller size.
At Castlemaine Camera Club we've decided on 900 pixels as the maximum
size for the longer side of a photo for digital competitions. As this
is a "landscape" (horizontal) photo, we'll make it 900 pixels wide.
HINT: If you're going to crop your image, now is the time!.
Open Chloe.tif, then Click on IMAGE > RESIZE > IMAGE SIZE; a box similar
to the one below should appear. The box below shows the file Chloe.tif
at its original size - 3504px wide x 2336px high.
1. Make sure the Check Boxes at lower-left are all ticked as illustrated.
2. Make sure the Resolution Box is at 72; if it's not, set it to 72 before
altering the Width.
3. Change the Width Box to 900 (making sure also the Width and Height
boxes are set to "pixels".
NOTE: If your image is Portrait (vertical) orientation, change Height
to 900px instead.
Your box should look something like this below:
If it does, Click OK, then Save the file.
